Inaugural Legend in 2010

Sir Donald Bradman was without doubt the greatest batsman who ever lived and the greatest cricketer of the 20th Century.

Over his magnificent Test career from 1928-48 he played in 52 Tests, scored 6,696 runs at 99.94 and was Australian Captain in 24 of the 52 Tests.

In 1931 he was named Wisden Cricketer of the Year, awarded a Knighthood in 1949 and awarded the Companion of the Order of Australia in 1979.

In 1985, he was the first member to be elevated to Legend status in the Sport Australia Hall of Fame. At the end of Sir Donald’s life, Time Magazine marked his obituary as “Australian icon” considered by many to be the pre-eminent sportsman of all time.
