Kelly Sports
Kelly Sports is a ChildSafe organisation and the largest provider of Sports Programs and Clinics for school aged children in Australia. Kelly Sports goal is to enhance each child’s physical education and wellbeing by providing expert coaching and umpiring over a wide range of sports including AFL, Soccer, Netball, Basketball, Athletics, Softball, Cricket, Volleyball, Tennis, Lacrosse, Hockey, Badminton, Table Tennis and much more.
Kelly Sports is currently looking for enthusiastic, active and committed Netball, AFL and Soccer umpires/referees for casual positions.
Kelly Sports is also currently looking for enthusiastic, active and committed sports coaches.
Applicants must be outgoing, friendly and sports minded people who are passionate about working with children and capable of coaching and/or umpiring groups with an emphasis on behaviour management and skill development.
Availability required for a casual coaching position with Kelly Sports is from 3.00pm most week days and some Saturday morning work may also be required. Flexible working hours average 6 – 10 hrs per week for coaching based on your availability. Occasional opportunities to coach in-curriculum may also be available.
Availability required for Umpiring AFL/Soccer positions will predominantly be on Saturday mornings, Wednesday and Friday Afternoons from 4.00pm.
Availability required for Netball umpiring positions is from 4.00pm week days with some Saturday morning work.
Occasional opportunities to umpire/referee in-curriculum may also be available.
Requirements include:
- Sports Coach Position – Proven experience in coaching children
- Umpire/Referee Position – Capable of umpiring/refereeing Netball, AFL or Soccer and have knowledge of current by-laws for Netball, AFL and Soccer competitions
- Working with Children Check – ( mandatory)
- Child Safe Environments Training – Responding to Risk,Harm, Neglect & Abuse -RRHAN (mandatory if over 18 years of age)
- First Aid ( training can be provided)
- COVID-19 double vaccinated as per the emergency management for the education & early childhood settings COVID-19 direction 2021( mandatory)
- Community Coach accreditation ( desirable) OR umpiring experience or accreditations ( desirable) OR be willing to learn umpiring/refereeing
- Experience working with primary and/ or secondary aged children
- Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children
- Be punctual and reliable
- Your own car or able to be transported to your sessions
- Good communication skills
Secondary school students are also encouraged to apply for our umpiring/refereeing positions as training will be provided.
